$100 Back on Carnival for Amex Cardholders, Plus Big Points Bonuses on Luxury Lines

Every month American Express, Chase, and other credit card issuers come up with new offers for their card holders when they make purchases at select merchants.  If you're a cruiser with the right card, then May 2026 might be a good time to pay for a cruise.

Not every cardholder has the same options, so you'll need to check on the American Express website once you've logged in.  Look under Amex Offers & Benefits and be sure to click to add the offer you want to your card before you make the purchase, and verify the terms (and expiration date) ahead of time.

Carnival Cruise Line: $100 back after $500+ in purchases

This offer is pretty simple, if you qualify.  Spend $500 on a Carnival reservation and you'll get $100 back as a statement credit.  If your final payment isn't due yet, don't worry - you can always pay $500 toward your balance, and pay off the rest of the cruise later.  This works whether you've booked directly or via a travel agent.  We saw this on both our Amex Platinum and Amex EveryDay cards, but your mileage may vary.

Earn 5 additional Membership Rewards® Points per Dollar on Oceania, Regent Seven Seas, and Seabourn

If you're booking one of the three most popular luxury lines, Oceania, Regent, or Seabourn, then there is a great offer for you this month, too.  With this offer you'll get a total of 6 Membership Rewards points for every dollar spent on the reservation (1 base, plus 5 bonus points).  If we figure a value of $0.015 per point (this can vary depending on how you redeem them), that means the points equivalent of $900 for a $10000 cruise - not bad! 

What's nice is these appear to be three separate offers - one per brand.  That means you can use this offer for up to three cruises (plus a Carnival sailing with the offer above).  Just as with the Carnival offer, you can use this whether you you've booked directly or with a travel agent (which we always recommend).  We only got this on our Amex EveryDay card - kinda funny, since we'd think the Platinum would have got the luxury offers, too.
