Holland America "VIEW&VERANDAH" - Drinks, Upgrades, Excursions & More
Posted on Mon, 02/15/2021 - 16:02
Holland America is the line to sail if you enjoy live music, and their VIEW&VERANDAH promotion represents some real savings opportunities. From blues to rock-and-roll to classical, they've put such a big focus on musical talent the last few years that on our cruises we found it transformed their brand experience. Holland America offers dining and service that is a big step up from many lines, and while they have a quieter onboard feel by day, we've found the evenings to have loads of entertainment options. For us, in addition to the live music offerings, we found the Lido Market to have some of the highest quality offerings of any buffet-style restaurant at sea.

Sailings We Liked
There are MANY great sailings included in the current promotion, with itineraries on multiple ships all over the world, but we're highlighting these two for a couple reasons. First, they're both on Nieuw Statendam, one of the newest ships in the fleet with the widest range of offerings for food and entertainment. She also has fantastic pool areas, both all the way aft - offering great views of the sea, and mid-ship in a multi-tier area with a pool, hot tubs, multiple dining options, and a retractable roof to make it comfy in all weather. Second, are the itineraries, which we'll discuss individually below.
This is the ultimate relaxation itinerary. Cozumel is famous for it's variety of options, and a place we enjoy visiting frequently - just walk off the ship and whether it's dining, diving, history, shopping, or beaches, it's all right there. Half Moon Cay is Holland America's private out-island, and we quickly decided it features the best beach of any cruise line island.
7 nights in the Western Caribbean - Ft Lauderdale, Cozumel, Key West, Nassau, and Half Moon Cay
Verandah Stateroom (Upgraded from Obstructed View)
If you're looking to explore as much as you are relax, then this Mediterranean itinerary is for you. Not only does it stop at ports with more do to than you could ever get done in a week (our opinion, skip the leaning tower in Pisa and visit Galleria dell'Accademia to see The David instead), but your embarkation and disembarkation ports are some of the perfect places to extend your trip. We spent four days in Rome before our last Med cruise and even with a private guide could have stayed another four while barely scratching the surface. Barcelona offers history as well as contemporary draws, and represents a fantastic value for American travelers when compared to other major European cities.
