On the last day of a cruise I often feel stuck - unable to commit to any plans because some part of my brain dedicates too much thought to wondering how I could just stay on the ship for one more cruise. On this cruise though, while I certainly didn't want it to end, the day also carried a very different tone as we sat off the coast of hurricane ravaged Freeport. Still we were able to enjoy our day, lay out in the sun shade, and take the in the final hours of our vacation...

I love sea days, and the agenda today had a few interesting things in the earlier hours, and while the day ended up being as relaxing as one could hope, there was an unexpected change in our voyage plans that serves as a reminder of just how lucky we are...

Vacation often requires tuning in a balance between doing everything, and relaxing, which may mean doing nothing. Today we continued striking what has been to me, a good balance, but it meant the day went in an unexpected way – but turned out great. Our time on shore in Tortola, the evening’s show, and dinner all came together nicely.

We got an early start in St Thomas for an excursion with a view, then enjoyed perfect weather back on Celebrity Equinox, seeing talented performers in the theater, and we feel like we’re starting to get into our stride on this ship...

Some cruisers prefer sea days, while others prefer being in port. Today felt like we had the best of both worlds as we enjoyed relaxing on the ship for the first half of the day until we arrived in San Juan at about 3:30pm. Docking in Old San Juan provides easy access to forts, historic sites, and a battery of great shops and restaurants. Since we’ve visited a couple times in the past year though, we ended up deviating from that routine a bit...

Sea days are, to us, meant for relaxation, and that’s exactly what we did with our first full day on Celebrity Equinox. While relaxing though, we managed to check out glass blowing at the lawn club, lay down and enjoy the serenity of the Solarium, try out a specialty restaurant, and more...

As I write this, I look back 24 hours ago to putting up hurricane shutters in the pouring rain, and expecting that sea water and wind my render everything at home nothing but a big cleanup of a past chapter. Now, my worries are lessened, I’m enjoying a nice cruise, and watching people laugh and smile in a silent disco at sea...

Last week we watched live as Celebrity Equinox sailed out of Port Everglades with her new livery, but there is much more to see than just a new hull color. Equinox is the first Solstice class ship to complete Celebrity Revolution, the line's $500 million fleet revitalization project. She's got new venues, decor, entertainment, technology, and much more - which we'll be sharing in person soon!
