Waking up to a phone call letting you know that breakfast is on the way is a great way to start the first full day of the cruise.  What made it all the better?  Our infinite verandah.  Reaching over to my phone and pressing a button to open the blackout curtains, revealing a floor to ceiling view of a very sunny Key West was such a nice experience that for a moment, just a moment, I forgot I was hungover.

The first full day of our three night Norwegian Sky sailing started off in Key West, Florida.  We enjoyed clear skies, and a surprisingly uncrowded city - though we ended up violating some of our own advice for this port visit...

My first full day onboard Celebrity Infinity was spent in port in Key West. I've visited Key West twice by cruise ship and had a great time both times. I'd like to say I had a great adventure and explored new parts of Key West...

The first full day of our cruise brought us to a cloudless Key West, Florida.  We spent a bit of time in port, but took it pretty easy, and then enjoyed more of what the Nieuw Amsterdam has to offer including a beautiful sail-away, pizza, our first experience with the main dining room...

If you participate in our interactive broadcasts you may have seen us in Peppers of Key West back in May.  We were visiting on our Cuba cruise and had a great time with our friends and the staff as we tried some of the hottest sauces around.  It was a fun broadcast to watch, so we've included it later in this post.  Why are we bringing this up now?  As you're probably aware, the Florida Keys, like several places, were dealt a devastating blow by Hurricane Irma, and Peppers of Key West, a great local business, is donating 25% of all sales through September 30th to local charities helping those in the Keys most impacted by the storm...

Today was our first full day on Empress of the Seas, and we spent it in Key West.  The timing of our arrival was a bit odd, and we broke away from what we usually do in this port.  Let's review the day and look ahead to tomorrow, which is sort of the "main event" in Cuba...
